Children’s Ministry

We are blessed in Poplar to have a Parish that’s bursting with children and families. Children’s Ministry is vital to our work in Poplar, and we use games, crafts, music and play to engage kids of all ages with our Christian faith.

Sunday School and Little Nick's

Children with big lungs and wriggly feet are welcome at all services in our Parish, but they’ll feel particularly at home at our special children’s activities.

Sunday School takes place during the 10am Parish Mass at All Saints and Little Nick’s meets during the 11am Parish Mass at St Nick’s.

Tiny Tots

Stay and play for babies 0-12 months - and their grown-ups!

We meet weekly across Tower Hamlets with coffee, toys and a relaxed atmosphere. We make new friends and share the highs and lows of parenthood together.

Come and join us!

All-Age Mass

The All-Age Mass at St Nick’s is particularly welcoming to primary aged children, featuring songs, a children’s address and a relaxed atmosphere.

Junior Choir

Our Junior Choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings: younger children from 5-6pm and older children from 6-7pm. Rehearsals are led by our Director of Music and by our Junior Choir assistant Martha Nicholls.

Younger members sing a monthly service of Mini Mattins, with older children singing services of Choral Mass and Choral Evensong, often alongside our adult choir.

Youth Van

Look out for the Tower Hamlets Youth Van, as it pops up on the Aberfeldy Estate!

Messy Church

From the mouths of infants and nursing babies you have established strength.

Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality, meeting throughout the year at St Nick’s.

It includes a welcome, a long creative (messy!) time to explore the biblical theme, a celebration time involving story, prayer, song and games, and a sit-down meal together.
